Spencer Reviews
I have perfect hearing but I couldn't understand most of the words Kristen Stewart was speaking. I could only catch the odd word here and there so it was really difficult to figure out what she was saying. Besides that, this movie was a jumbled mess from beginning to end. Was any of this factual or just fantasy?
Kristen Stewart delivers a mesmerizing performance that makes the film a must-watch. Her portrayal of Diana is truly remarkable, capturing the essence of a beloved icon and passionate activist who was taken from us too soon.
I loved Diana’s look a like she was dead on. I also enjoyed watching the movie the crown. I understand they are not by the same producers but I feel this doesn’t do enough justice for someone like Diana. I was so excited to watch this but it could have been way better!
La película está OK. Pero, no entiendo porque la actuación de Steward ha sido tan elogiada, si literalmente esta realizando el mismo personaje, actuando como lo hace en cualquier otra película … mismos gestos, etc.
Horrible movie! Are we sure Camila didn’t write this? Totally made the People’s Princess out to be insane and having hallucinations of Anne Boleyn. Shame on the people writing this and airing such trash. The woman was tortured by Camila from her wedding day. She loved her husband. She was young, innocent and was a virgin when she married Charles. She was beautiful, loved by the public. Poised, gracious, elegant and down to earth. Wouldn’t you wonder what was wrong with you if your husband preferred dog face, hunch back vulture Camilla? I’d of been miserable trying to compete with her too. Camilla sought out Charles, was experienced, a scheming narcissist who got Charles wrapped around her finger, the old bag. She’s trying to get her kids and family in Royal properties and positions. This film is utterly disgusting and makes me sick to this they would produce such crap. Diana was something the hunchback vulture will never be. EVER! The public loved Diana. Dog face has no manners, let alone poise, elegance or beauty. Shame of the writers and producers for making a piece of garbage for Diana’s grandchildren to think she was a nut!
I recently watched the film Spencer, featuring Kristen Stewart, which delves into the life of Princess Diana and the challenges she faced within the royal family. The film was incredibly powerful, showcasing her profound struggles, and it left me with a strong dislike for Prince Charles. He came across as a truly despicable character who contributed to her tragic downfall. Despite being adored by the public and cherished by the staff around her, he seemed threatened by her popularity and made her feel unworthy, pushing her further into despair. His attitude was cruel and unnecessary, and it’s clear she should have left him far earlier. It was evident that Harry and William had an immense love for their mother, which made her downward spiral all the more heartbreaking. She was trapped in a toxic environment, and Queen Elizabeth's demeanor was simply unkind, reflecting her true nature. Nonetheless, I have great admiration for Princess Diana, and I must say that Kristen Stewart delivered an outstanding performance. Although I'm not always a fan of her work, I found this portrayal to be exceptional. I'm thrilled about this film and now understand why it garnered so many Oscar nominations. I highly recommend watching it.
This was a macabre version of Diana, the spookiness of which was enhanced by the spot on imitation of her posturing and voice. It really had nothing to do with the real Diana but this manufactured one was super entertaining. Thing is the film didn't seem to be able to make up its mind whether to be sinister or sweet (as in the scenes of her with her children). And with regard to her behavior as a mother this version of Diana failed miserably because she was constantly performing that no-no tactic of using her children as accomplices and even forcing them to parent her at times. I totally agreed with the Prince when he said she was acting like "a baby who isn't being spoiled enough". I saw this Diana as a female version of a "Joker" style character. Especially that macabre dancing towards the end of the movie that seemed to be a deliberate mirroring of him. And the mental illness aided by the sinister sound track was certainly to the fore at all times. I loved how she would repeatedly turn in her tracks and retreat back to her room when everyone on the staff was trying to drag her out to join the others. Wandering around the grounds, inside and out, completely cut off from the world and other people, alone with her crippling disorders - that's what makes her a emblem of our times and so, so relevant. Would love to see more work from the creator of this movie who is truly blessed with a rich imagination !
Perhaps you want to watch someone behave like a petulant brat for well over an hour but I found it desperately boring and hopelessly annoying.
This has to be the least of the trilogy that I liked. Not sure if I liked KS performance at all. It was definitely a bit too out there for me.
Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of Princess Diana in Spencer is nothing short of a disaster. Her accent is utterly dreadful, pulling you out of the film with every forced syllable. Stewart looks more like a child playing dress-up in her mother’s clothes than embodying the grace and dignity of the late princess. Kristen's acting is painful to watch—awkward, flat, and completely lacking the emotional depth required for such an iconic role. Instead of portraying the complexities of Diana, Stewart's performance feels like a cringeworthy caricature. The casting choice is baffling, and the film does a disservice to both the character of Princess Diana and the audience.
This was one of the most pointless and boring movies that I’ve ever seen. Kristin’s facial expressions were annoying, her accent wasn’t believable and it was generally terrible acting…. And I like Kristen Stewart.
Bad acting from the first second of the movie. The implausible behaviour of Princess Diana is kind of confusing. The atmosphere of the film is too dramatic, and the comparison of Diana to Anne Boleyn is exaggerated, the Princess was really mentally unstable, but the murdered queen did not appear to her in hallucinations. Diana's affair with her maid and the children's relationship with Charles is also fictional. In short, this is a pseudo-historical film with weak actors. Only Timothy Spall saved the show.
Annoying!! Couldn't understand most of what was said by Stewart. Whispered and mumbled dialogue. Probably quite an accurate depiction though!! 🙄
This movie is absolutely terrible. Anyone who says Kristen Stewart killed this role is a moron. Everything about this is a joke. They make Diana out to be a nut job. The holds absolutely no depth and weight. Save yourself 2 hours and watch a documentary. This is by far a travesty
Terrible. I mean terrible. Not just a bit. But a lot. The casting manager should find another job.
I don't think Kristen Stewart was a perfect fit for the role of Diana... she made it seem like Diana was a mentally ill person who NEVER smiled, irl pictures Diana smiled a LOT and when Kristen's 'Diana' would come out in public and meet fans she looked so sad and empty.. idk but i don't really think she did the real Diana much justice..
Very disapointing. Her portraial of Diana was not good. She spoke in whispers and very robotic making her hard to understand. I switched off half way through.
Is Kristen Stewart this bad in everything? God it’s just such a horrible performance. Music, design, direction are all solid. Conceptually interesting. That central performance was so hideously terrible that it tanked a lot of beautiful work
I think the Casting of Kristen Stewart had the strength to be a very Powerful Film and could have won her an Oscar. There were moments in here when I was blown away and felt I was watching Diana interact with her boys. It was mesmerizing, but then there were points that were aimed at being unnecessarily overly Metaphoric, and it ruined the intentions of this movie. I had moments of losing interest as well and not totally understanding what was going on or being said. Moments where Kristen and the story made Diana Whiney, which made it frustrating to watch. This had the chance to be a really amazing movie, but it fell short.
