Supernova Reviews
obvious. long pregnant pauses. sat through seance impatiently. pyscho babble. dementia is a serious subject but supernova trivialises it.
It is always a joy to see two consummate actors work beautifully together their chemistry was wonderful and honest. I would have enjoyed less scenic shots of the countryside and more interaction between Tucci and Firth grappling with this debilitating disease. It is a true love story. So much was said non-verbally with their eyes, a touch of the hand and a smile.
Loved the unhurried pace, fantastic acting, great locations scenery.
Boring, slow, characters did not get me involved.
Beautiful story, music and cinematography. Terrific acting. Very timely story.
Unbelievable performances!
We liked the actors interaction on their road trip.
Good performance, well acted portrayal of intense subject matter. Tuchii delivered
Supernova is an outstanding relationship movie.
Performances by Tucci and firth were great
I only saw it because my friend wanted to see it. I knew it was a depressing movie just from the synopsis and felt that the ending was done poorly and cheaply. I did not find Stanley Tucci’s character as debilitated by dementia as compared to the emotional toil felt by Colin firth’s character. I think Colin firth showed a dynamic range. the only thing awkward was the kissing scenes. Just felt fake and forced and they used a dark setting to mask the awkwardness.
OK movie. Not as special or emotionally touching as I was expecting it to be.
This was a well-acted movie but it didn’t hit the mark. It was a story about a gay couple and the reality of both dealing with one’s dementia diagnosis. It would’ve been nice if both or at least one of the actors was actually gay.
Beautiful movie. Contemplative. Thoughtful and thought provoking. Shot tenderly and patiently. Acted exquisitely.
A glimpse into the actual feeling of losing a partner to Dementia. The performances were power. Seeing two of the best actors going head to head in each scene. It was truly powerful
Human. Real. Been living it.
Outstanding acting by Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci (as expected) and you really felt deep inside what they were going through and the strong love they had for each other.

A beautiful love story and an Actors movie with 2 of the best - Firth & Tucci are marvelous together. Cinematography of the English mountain regions is superb.
Sometimes all it takes is a simple story wonderfully acted to enthrall. That is the case with “Supernova”. Although there are other actors in the film, for the most part only Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci are on screen as a couple dealing with one of their increasingly evident Alzheimer’s symptoms. It may be the best work either has ever done. Never overplayed, and completely linear in its presentation, this is a film of great power.
