Teeth Reviews

Apr 24, 2025

Genuinely iconic. The plot, while dry still contributes immensely to the story. Teeth is a genuine masterpiece there is nothing like it. It tells a message so discreetly, yet at the same time so potently.

Satiric, original, sexy, a bit gore and greatly acted. Bit of mix that makes it a spot along my cult movies.

Teeth works, cause it has a likable protagonist with Dawn combined with a wonderful strange premise. The balance between comedy and horror is not too good and it has some uncomfortable bloody scenes...but this actually adds to the whole thing. Its not perfect, our hero is not perfect, its strange and confusing and bloody with a happy ending...maybe made by a female director, it would have looked different and might be interesting, maybe Dawns empowerment would be more authentic, but that's a big maybe, here its "Dawn against the (male) World", which is pretty cool!

I loved it because it's based in mythology and warns of the dangers of nuclear power plants. But seriously, it was gross and, yes, there are no good men or boys, but the whole idea was hilariously funny, a comedy with teeth.

But how does this contribute to Taylor Swifts legacy?

The movie had an original theme, and some scares, some comedy. I recommend it for comedy horror.

Billed as a comedy, and while there's some dark humor, most of it is flat and unoriginal. The concept is good, but it's not enough to fill a feature-length film, so there is a lot of filler and the plot moves incredibly slow. I found myself hitting the "forward 5 seconds" so often that the last half of the movie was only 15 minutes.

Its definitely a movie. the comedy is okey, plot is a plot. good movies if you want to weird out your friends with a strange find.

It's original and funny but a bit too revengy and extreme.

I am usually very, VERY not into comedy horror but this was amazing.

We all knew what we were getting ourselves into. It's a ridiculous and pretty entertaining flick if you're into B-level horror, overt criticism of religious institutions, and hit-or-miss feminism. It's hard to fault the film for its utterly outrageous premise as it never pretends that it's anything other than that. The first half of the film is actually surprisingly subtle. There are times when it feels like a satire, but at other times it's remarkably clever with its direction and humor. It's silly and predictable, but it feels like it knows what it wants to be. If only that energy could have lasted through the whole movie. Right around when the gynecologist screams "vagina dentada!" with a bloody hand, the movie goes completely off the rails. It's still fun, but it loses the nuance of the first half. The movie has a certain uniqueness in that there are two aspects to the horror depending on who you consider to be the "victim" in each scene. The physical horror is obvious, but the emotional horror can actually be more effective at times. Sadly, this film is so obviously written and directed by a bunch of dudes that the moments that should be powerful and emotional are glossed over for more weird, patriarchal smut. A lot of really good stuff and a lot of questionable stuff too. It's fun if you can appreciate it for what it is, but it's not for everyone.

A horror-comedy that's bad in both genres, same with the cast.

Not much to chew on in this tonally schizophrenic example of wasted potential. The men are merely caricatures of varying despicableness & the female lead is little more than a vacant stare. Sorely lacking in nuance, depth, & emotion. #nitrosMovieChallenge

What had the potential to be an enjoyably bad B-movie, results in an offensive mess. The film presents itself with a laughably absurd premise that had the makings for a idntoxicatinngly fun time, but simultaneously adds serious issues creating a tonally inconsistent experience of discomfort in the worst ways possible. Aside from its offensive angle of tackling serious issues, the film is structured poorly, with insufferable acting and a terrible, one-sided portrayal of genders and their relations between each other. It’s portrayal of its story proves to be toxic, especially in a society where these issues sadly exist. Although this was more than likely intended to be a silly over-the-top extravaganza, the film introduces ideas and serious subjects that ultimately makes watching this movie an offensively toxic film that should be avoided.

It looked pretty. Really nice locations and the special effects were obvious but still convincing. The main girl looked perfect for the role. Awesome sound. Subtle and beautiful. Full use of dynamics and clear as anything. The pacing was a bit uneven. Sometimes it was really well paced and interesting and sometimes it was lacking anything happening. It was brilliantly well acted. The actual titular teeth were really subtle and this film benefited from this.

This movie officially put me off sex for like three months 😳... But it sends one hell of message, so I certainly respect it for that.

Schlocky horror fun, but nothing you don't expect

"Teeth"(2007) is one of the worst horror movies I've ever watched in my entire life, and I've had to sit through it twice. Yeah, I get it, they were trying to empower women. They failed by giving this film a completely hypocritical tone. This is pure schlock filler garbage cinema at its worst. I've seen it in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart more often than not. Try empowering women with an actually talented cast, better effects, and a script that doesn't put me to sleep. The lead character is such a terrible actress, she only makes one facial expression the entire film: "scared/confused". 1/10. Zero stars.
