The Bikeriders Reviews

Apr 5, 2025

Amazing performances all around, that's what really makes this truly enjoyable. Characters might be semi-mindless cavemen but if you've ever been a two-wheeler, oh man it's especially worth the watch

An over all solid film, with decent performances. Thought it was light on its plot. I could appreciate the small film for what it was, it could have been better in areas though. Tom Hardy brings the best performance of these actors.

Really well done. Great acting and great film look and story.

Loved the old bikes and the concept, but it was boring. You have a potential great story here, but it was quite dull. One of the problems I had was the accents. It was based in Chicago, but many of the characters had East Coast accents? They could have also used someone with more charisma and appeal in the role of Kathy as well. If you want watch a cool biker, watch Marlon Brando in the Wild One. I felt bad for Tom Hardy

Terrific cast - Austin Butler and Tom Hardy are transformative! Potential unfortunately unrealised. The plot was too simple and the narrative arduously long. Lost opportunity to delve deeper into the culture of the club and the characters - if not for Butler and Hardy this would be a complete flop. Dont regret the watch but had I not, I wouldn’t have missed much.

Someone stated the Vandals being a fictional club, yet they do exist. They fly under the Pagan banner and are as dangerous as any other 1%er club. Check facts before flapping gums.

Expected more from this movie. Don't know why, but I did. Pretty boring and ultimately pointless. Liked some of the characters and performances, but felt like this movie had no real idea what it was trying to do.

Another Hollywood attempt at labeling Austin Butler as a bad boy heart-throb, but in reality plays the part like a dim-witted mute. The Bikeriders has sentiments of a Scorsese epic, but is relatively boring and finds little to no redeeming quality in any of the characters. I would rather stick my ear next to a Harley exhaust than listen to Jodie Comers fake Midwestern accent any longer.

This is one of those movies you will either love or may find a bit 'meh'. In my case, I loved it. One thing to keep in mind though, is that this movie was never meant to be a big action blockbuster. One that's full of explosions, stunts, gunfights etc. So don't expect that when going in for the first watch. This movie is purely telling a story from an individuals' point of view of the club life, whilst she's having an interview. Not necessarily any big highs or lows in the movie, but in my eyes, there doesn't need to be. The story-telling aspect was done really well, and was easy to follow. Imagine being sat with your grandpa when you were younger, and he's telling you a story about his past and it really gets you interested and excited to hear what happens next. Puts you on the edge of your seat. That's how this movie is for me. It's also worth mentioning that this movie is also one of those ones where it's a case of "If you know, you know." Meaning, if you're aware of the club lifestyle, then you'll thoroughly enjoy the movie. Whereas if not, then it may just come across as another story-telling movie. With regards to historical accuracy, it's mostly fiction. With the history that I have gathered of the Outlaws MC over my years of being around them, I can confirm that, at least. But still, we loved watching it on the big screen never the less. Austin played his role very well, and was fun to follow his journey from start to finish.

That movie sucks big time .... boring

The bike riders is a quaint film that likes to take an easy pace to just let the characters ride and hangout. The film has heart and seeing this racing club transform to what it becomes is interesting. However the film is unable to take you on the visceral ride. All the performances are well done but meaningful relationships or sequences are lacking. Although you might be able to enjoy the ride for what it is. Bike riders feels more like a straight ride at highway speeds, rather than going at max rpm through curvy forest roads.

A well crafted film about something not a lot of people care about. You find yourself suddenly wanting your own motorcycle and to find people to ride with (if you didn't already). Surprisingly really enjoyed this film!!! CONTINUE READING ON LETTERBOXD: https://boxd.it/8FwyFz

The Bikeriders is a solid drama based on a true story. Very solid performances from Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy and Austin Butler plus a host of talented supporting actors help drive this compelling story. Obviously some found the pacing slow, but it is a drama after all, and one thing you need when watching a drama is patience. Highly recommend to anyone who likes a well-acted, gritty drama.

A very different film than the usual stuff that get made nowadays. A sober and slower paced movie which gives an insight into a world/culture I have always found fascinating as a Brit. The style reminds me a little of The Shawshank Redemption with a narrative leading you through the film. Not one for the adrenaline junkies but all the better for it in my opinion. The actors all had me convinced they were the characters they were playing and deserve recognition for keeping it all believable.

What a disappointment this turned out to be. It's basically Jodie comer chatting absolute garbage for 2hrs whilst smoking an infinite amount of cigarettes I wouldn't recommend.

This movie did not seem to have a defined plot or arc. There were several things that were introduced that were never developed or reconciled (Benny is referenced to always fall off his bike in the opening scene, but he never crashes throughout the movie). The acting was decent, although the Chicago accents were a little much at times. The character of the photographer/journalist was barely developed. Hells Angels had a more defined and interesting story, and would probably make a better movie.

I didn't go to see this film when it was in theatres and I'm kicking myself that I didn't because I absolutely loved it. Definitely recommend it!
