The Bikeriders Reviews
Expected more from this movie. Don't know why, but I did. Pretty boring and ultimately pointless. Liked some of the characters and performances, but felt like this movie had no real idea what it was trying to do.
Great plot, storytelling, & actors.
It was ok, kinda boring.
Such a great film great actors!
Worst movie I have seen in a while. There is no soundtrack for most of the movie so it’s a super awkward watch, and Tom Hardy way overacted the role, which made the cheesy “trying to be hard core” dialogue even worse.
Benny is one of the most boring characters on screen. The goodfellas attempt felt very forced and unoriginal. Tom hardy was the only upside, interesting character throughout the entire story. I would give this movie a solid 2/5 and would not recommend to many people.
This movie was fantastic! Acting was fantastic, the storyline held my attention the whole time, and the direction was top notch. I'm not a fan of motorcycles and I still loved it. Highly recommended!
loved how the story was told and how it moved...
Really good movie all around. Really left me wanting more at the end though.
I love Tom Hardy...he is an amazing actor. The story came right from the book. The accents and way of dress was on point. The actors studied tapes and pictures and brought it to the big screen. I have seen it 3 times already!
Great movie, enjoyed all the old bikes and dysfunctional family vibe!
Good characters. Remember, its from a true story, so don't expect lots of chases and explosions.
not as good as I thought it was going to be
Liked the time frame and the story told of the first motorcycle group and what they stood for. Also the way the story unfolded and told through various interviews with the female lead character.
Besides the pretty design choices and above average acting, The Bikeriders had little to offer from a story perspective. An underutilized ensemble cast and a disjointed narrative made for a slow burn without the burn. With no tangible conflict for the majority of the movie, it felt as though I was watching a documentary about the most tame group of delinquents ever assembled. Shame on this movie for reducing Austin Butler to a pretty face for awkward glam shots instead of maximizing his talents. Tom Hardy didn’t have much to work with either but he did the most he could and I can appreciate that. Despite the multiple attempts at emotional upheavals centered around forgettable characters, the only things I felt during this movie were boredom and disdain for the midwest accent that violated my ears. It’s unfortunate a setting and premise with such potential resulted in this drab and sluggishly executed picture. If you took all the elements of this film and gave them to Scorsese, we would’ve had a masterpiece.
I loved this movie! It’s not an action piece or a riveting thriller. But an exceptional character drama that shows how something well intended can eventually lead to a horrible downfall. Austin Butler, Jodie Conner and Tom Hardy are all great in this! Definitely recommend it!
Outstanding acting and unique storyline.
I'm a horrible critic as I like too many movies, I guess it comes from my restraint from building up a movie based off trailers or reviews and go in not expecting anything so they typically deliver better results that way. For this movie The Bikeriders, you can't argue with the cast and the plot. This is our generations The Wild One or Easy Rider and it delivers on so many levels.
Honestly my favourite movie this year. Was so bummed when they postponed it last year but it was totally worth the wait. Great movie, great acting, great costumes, everything!
Some wannabe story. Unsatisfactory ending. Not sure why it's rated R.
