The Little Prince is a classic story that has been retold many times. If you search up the name "Little Prince" on IMDb you are going to find over 50 different adaptations of the title. In 2015 alone, there were 3 different "Little Prince" movies. But the question is how does this one hold up. I will say the Little Prince part of the story is handed very well. It is very creatively done and very well animated. Sadly St. Exupery's story gets less screen time than the other more boring story that is in this movie. Yes "the Little Prince" in this adaptation spends most of its time as a story within a story. The main story, what the movie spends most of its time on, is about that framing. Think of it like "The Princess Bride" if the story of sick Fred Savage listening to the story took up 70% of the runtime. That framing story is about a determined little girl and her overbearing mother. The mother really wants the girl to get into this illustrious private school, study hard and have a successful life. The mother is overworked and doesn't have the time to spend with her daughter. The girl soon realizes that she wants more than just studying, she wants to play, explore and do other kids stuff before growing up. Will she learn the value of hard work and study, or will she learn the importance of "being a kid"? It's all pretty basic kids movie, parents don't spend enough time with the kids, kids need to enjoy being kids type of stuff. The daughter makes unexpected friend in the elderly neighbor, "the aviator", and it is through his story-telling that we get "the Little Prince" part of the movie. Jeff Bridges does a great job in the role, he has a great wise albeit somewhat senile old man voice. The girl is also great, it is when the other celebrities jump in that the voice cast falls a bit flat. When the movie shifts animation styles and gets to the Little Prince portion of the story, it is great. It is creative, beautiful and thought-provoking. And the music just lifts everything to a higher level. It is just a shame that we have to sit through so much standard kids' movie junk to get there. Not that the kids' movie section is all that bad, it's just dull and unoriginal. It must be proof that I have forgotten my own Little Prince of life because I find the friendship between old man Bridges and 8 year-old gold more problematic than charming. And I find myself siding with the mom, the girl needs to study and prepare for the future. When the movie is good, it is really good, sadly the bad outweighs the good in this instance. I was just hoping that the Little Prince would have been a Bigger part of this story.

The Little Prince movie is the best animated film that they ever seemed! I love the movie.

I remember this movie on Netflix, I just did not even know what it's called then 20 years later, and I was scrolling around on YouTube shorts. I hear this song and it was from that movie from Netflix

Phenomenal, will never not cry at this movie

Can't express my feelings for this movie. It's phenomenal. I remember watching it for the first time and it's really one of those movies where it's only perfect when you watch it without knowing what you're watching. It has all the right qualities for a perfect movie. It's breathtaking. I always recommend this movie when I get asked a good animated movie. It's for all ages as this is about growing up and forgetting things. I love this movie and I will definitely recommend to watch it without any spoilers.

i ugly cried like 3 times this is my favorite book and this movie is absolutely beautiful. it tells us yeah we can't stop from growing up but to never loose that inner child inside all of us. if you ever get to a point where you don't know what to do with your life i think this is a good film to watch

Wow. Did I forget how to be a child? No. By the way, the best part of this movie is when it's focused on the history of The Little Prince. It's undeniably charming, touching, and with excellent characters. The real problem of The Little Prince 2015 version is the story outside The Little Prince's universe. I know that the falsely perfect atmosphere and the little girl and his mother without personality are purposeful things, but they're constantly removing me from that joyful atmosphere which I was always hoping to return. The aviator was a character who I learned to like throughout the movie, he started a little creepy but ended in a way as charming and touching as the story he was telling to the little girl. The third act is the best part, despite also being problematic. It starts thrilling, funny, and with excellent references to some characters from The Little Prince. But there's a new character (who was a brilliant idea) who makes that act return to the boring rhythm of the rest of the movie. At least, it ends well.

A philosophical journey told in an adventurous and heart-warming way.

I loved it. The story was great, the themes were amazing. My only problem was the last act.
