The Lost City Reviews
Wow. This movie has an 83% from audiences and a 79% from critics?! This just shows you how far Hollywood has fallen that a piece of rubbish as bad as this movie is can garner than kind of a score. Unreal. There was basically nothing redeeming about this film. The acting is awful, the plot has been done 1000x and it's not funny or suspenseful. About the only thing that makes this movie worth watching is the 5 or so minutes Brad Pitt appears in it and then his, spoiler alert, untimely and unexpected demise. If you can't find anything to watch do yourself a favor and just go to bed. You'd be better off.
This is a good film but not a great one. It has its ups and a lot of parts that drag. Overall it is entertaining.
Wasnt what I was expecting, was very well acted perfect comedic timing very funny...
Great concept for a movie and I was super excited to watch it. But I only lasted watching it halfway through before I got way too annoyed. From what I gathered this movie was supposed to represent the female gaze/ relatability. BUTTTTT she had so many choices to demand to not be in that sequen jumpsuit or in stiletto heels and she never requested to be in more comfortable clothes while stuck in the jungle and all they need her to do is translate something.
had very low expectations but loved so much, specially the mix between adventure, romance, action, and even some fun
Definitely recommend like Jumonji Kinda movie
There is too little that is new or likable in the script.
amazingly funny rom com 😂 .. light fun movie 😊
Enough laughs to make it enjoyable. All the actors did great in it. Sandra Bullock is really good at doing clumsy slapstick.
Terrible. Harry Potter as the bad guy? SandraB still paying the same role she did 30 years ago? It's just old fashioned these days. I'm bewildered by the average high rating as it really is poor. Avoid.
Piece of GARBAGE! 3 January 2025 After just 10 minutes of watching this movie, I knew something wrong was happening. My girlfriend asks me to stop the movie just after 5 minutes of watching, I gave it a little more. But after 30 minutes this movie is unsufferable, it is supposed to be a kind of romantic action comedy but is far away from anything describing it as such. Boring, flat stupid jokes, no creative dialog or script, the cinematography is good and obviously Bullock is still a very atractive woman but that's not going to keep me watching this mediocrity in full, so I stop watching about a third of it never to come back again. By the way, Brat Pitt is not an atractive man anymore he looks like 75 years old, all wrinkled, deformed face and greatly diminish from his young years, so the ladies have to concentrate their eye efforts on just Tatum, who is sadly continuously overacting and looking pathetic. Bullock also looks depress and disconnected from her character so is obviously she is not enjoying doing this movie neither. Finally, and sadly Radcliffe career has become just a piece of furniture as this movie attests. What a waste of money and talent this movie is, I can't understand how Hollywood producers are pushing this catastrophe in the movie-loving community is an insult, they think they have us for granted but the joke is on them. 1.5 stars for the cinematography, is good with amazing colors and camara takes, and of course Bullock for still looking so beautiful.
My wife and I both enjoyed it and have recommended it to friends. Good acting from Tatem and Bullock and we loved the short time Pitt was on stage. Lots of focus on Da'vine Randolph which we did not get. Neither her character nor her acting was very good. We liked Radcliffe in his role. Would liked to have seen his character developed more.
Channing Tatum is a terrible actor
Not a good film, tries and fails, if you want a film like this that WORKS go for 'Romancing the Stone'.
This movie is simply fantastic, a joy to watch.
The movie has a very entertaining premise. A romance novelist lost in the jungle with her cover model. For the most part the film is able to take full advantage of this set up. Tatum and Bullock do a great job, as well as Daniel Radcliffe as the villain. The supporting cast as well get some good time to shine, including a hilarious bit with the character of "Jack Trainer". The two leads, Bullock and Tatum have a good back and forth throughout the film. Their lines have good comedic timing, and come across very natural. Sometimes their comedic banter does not land as well as the director may have thought. Certain sequences seem to last too long, as if the two actors improved a bunch of quips and the editor couldn't decide which ones to cut out. The film does have its fair share of logical inconsistencies in the duo's escaThe movie has a very entertaining premise. A romance novelist lost in the jungle with her cover model. The film does have its fair share of logical inconsistencies in the duo's escape. Certain plot points that leave the audience saying, "there is no way that should have worked." but we go along with it anyways. The movie does keep cutting back to a "B-Plot" that isn't nearly as funny or engaging as the main story. But it feels that the movie spends a lot of time here as homework they have to do for the finale. There is also a romantic subplot in the story that I was just not buying. That combined with some lazy story telling clichés towards the third act, hold this movie back from being great. But all in all, I still had a good time. The jokes that landed out numbered the stretches of misfires. And the lame story beats are salvaged by the likable cast of characters. There may be some detours along the way, but I think there is treasure to be found in "The Lost City".pe. Light hearted and fun. Not necessarily a genre leading star but solid and delivers on the category promise.
“The adventure is real. The heroes are not.” It was such a funny treat. All the cast and crew was amazing. It had the whole theater laughing. I’d definitely recommend watching this film. Bullock, Tatum and Radcliffe were amazing. 5/5 stars.
Lots of laugh out-loud moments and action packed! I really enjoyed it!
