If you’ve never been catfished by a movie, here’s your chance. I was rooting for the slasher.

Ok as a slasher movie it is sub par, as an empowerment movie its heart is in the right place, but is sappy and trite. As a message movie it makes strong points that one cannot or should not argue with but it is pretty heavy handed and will lose anyone will not change minds so it really fails across the board. The agenda hits you over the head and really comes off poorly.

The viewers are left wondering “am I even watching a horror movie?” Would have been better if the killer bit was taken out.

But why do movies have to mess with the poor old dogs?? The film was horror-curious. It seemed as though it would be a sci-fi type villian at the beginning and then got totally away from the fact that there was a killer, then when the killer returned, it made no sense why it was dressed the way it was, or why she even got to the point she did. Had potential as a concept, but was not fully baked.

Look no further than the title......Idk if there's ever been a more obvious warning for disappointment. I watched because I figured it would atleast make me laugh.......Nope. Not even good background noise.

Kevin Bacon is the only reason I watched this movie. No complaints on him. However, this movie just sucked.

As someone this movie was made to represent and defend, this work embarrasses me. Here’s why I can’t recommend it. We could’ve had the lesbian equivalent of Scream, but we were robbed. As a movie: it isn’t horror, it isn’t a slasher, it isn’t funny, it isn’t heart warming, it isn’t spooky, it barely functions, and doesn’t land emotionally outside of our niche audience. It is corny, cliché, and would make a high school film teacher say to their way overly confident students “wow, that was really good!” before swiftly moving to the next group. The plot twist at the end was so badly executed that I walked out of the front door to calm down. The concept should’ve been strictly psychological thriller with some violence. There shouldn’t have been a random (wannabe) slasher… yet, she was the only good actor or redeeming character in the whole thing. The killing was psychologically motivated, not just rooted in a cosmic evil (cool!) but again, it wasn’t actually a slasher film, and that character ended up being the one I liked. The nerves of this movie were not wired correctly. This whole concept was a seizure. The only hope for value in this work is that we get a sequel that takes the slasher and gives us what we really want but can’t have in real life- cold, bloody REVENGE. This is NOT a horror film. As a social statement: it embarrasses me because the thought of the exact people it is meant to rebuke (who I grew up with) would watch this and laugh. Then they’d take it as more reason to not take their children seriously when they come out. It is so poorly executed, the acting is so bad, and the story line crumbles…. It’s actually kind of hurtful. There are legitimate activist actors who speak poetically for social justice in Hollywood, but Kevin Bacon just blasts this big ole fart over Peacock like it’s a Family Guy. It is so bad that it couldn’t possibly be enjoyed ironically twenty years from now. It should be remanded to the deepest, darkest crevices of Blumhouse’s Studios. Straight to a lead vault under Wilshire Blvd, never to be seen again. The only people who could possibly enjoy this movie are people like me (not me lol) who have no other representation in movies they like. There are countless actors who torture themselves to define and maintain this All Mighty Genre. Some have quite literally* had their spines and/or psyche fractured (see the Exorcist) in the name of Horror. This was a middle finger to them. For shame. What were they thinking? For shame, I say!

There really is no end to the number of summer camp teen slashers out there which is good so you don't have to waste your blinks on this one. It's slow and the plot in my opinion is just weird. The plot twist is decent but a tad of a reach.

It’s not bad, I’d say worth a watch. The story is pretty good, and some of the acting is better than others but overall decent. I wouldn’t necessarily classify it as horror tho, more so drama/thriller. No gore and little blood. Some of the dialogue is pretty cringe as well. There are some heartwarming moments tho, so it’s a decent movie.

this is just objectively a bad movie, but in kinda a hilarious way. a silly group of queer teenagers could watch this and have a great time laughing about it

Interesting twist on the kids being hunted at a camp thing. As others have said, the movie does bounce between what it wants to be. However, it is worth watching for the young cast. I hope the powers take notice and put them into better projects.

Should've gotten way better reviews. That's why I'm writing this one. But my reviews don't pop up because I guess I'm not verified? Or something? Sorry I'm not that much a nerd, just a surface nerd, F* this website putting people thru that much just to post an opinion. Especially when most people are just bashing the film for no good reason. It was a creative dive and carried from beginning to end. The actors were all pretty good at their roles and me being a fan of Kevin Bacon didn't influence my opinion of his influence. But I think he was a good choice for his role, definitely. Alotta dumb people trolling online these days. Take every opinion with grains of salt and water but definitely use your personal time to choose based on your own merit. I decided to watch this one and was pleasantly content with the production.

Its really a good drama about LBGT, even thought it's not even a horror/slasher it's a good watch

A queer horror masterpiece

What the hell? Why does this have such bad ratings? I mean sure they had a couple corny moments but like…. If I see one more movie about a blonde lady being bad in a survival situation I'm gonna lose my mind. Like at least this was a creative idea and had funny parts. And it got truly chilling in parts because it wasn't replaying the same 25 tropes we get in most now. I was really hoping the person behind the mask was gonna be Rupaul.

There was so much off about this film. The writer was trying way to hard to make the camp staff "creepy" with poorly written and cheesy lines. Kevin Bacon's acting was the only thing that really was good about the film the rest of the cast was just mediocre. The movie had a very slow drawn out pace and failed to thrill me even in the scarier moments. When I find myself pulling out my phone to shop amazon, I can safely say I am bored.
