Till Reviews
A fine film. I felt the story was a powerful as it could have been. But that is due to the writing. The acting is quite good. The narrative seemed to encompass more of the mother's story rather than Emmitt Till's horribly tragic story.
Tear-jerker for sure
Crazy story. Insane the men weren't convicted

One of the most heartbreaking and powerful movies I've ever seen. A necessary story perfectly told. Brings the audience into the depths of human ugliness and beauty. Pain and strength so poignantly juxtaposed. Empaths beware, this will bring you to a precarious place. The darkest stories in the human condition are hard to watch but need to be told.
Very powerful movie. The actress who played Mamie was so good. An amazing performance.
Great film and acting. Tragic event.
Heart touching but still with a twist of humor a must see.
The story of Emmett Till and his death is huge. The movie, in my opinion, left out too much of the actual tragedy and didn't give us a connection with Emmett before he died. Deadwyler is truly talented, but her sorrow couldn't carry all 2 hrs of the film.
Its dignified and careful, but maybe a little too careful.
Powerful telling but some strange changes to the true story.
Painful to watch but necessary.
Very sad but powerful movie. Great acting!
It was a well shot movie, the lead was excellent. The movie was a bit drawn out, based on fact it didn't add much to what was already known.
It is an emotional film, clearly buoyed by the mesmerizing performance of Danielle Deadwyler as Mamie Till-Mobley, the mother of the murdered Emmett Till. How Deadwyler was passed for a nomination is deplorable. It's solidly made, but pretty standard. This is the definition of a good movie. It is never boring and the cinematography is really fascinating. There are moments that Chinonye Chukwu may hold the shot too long, but she is trying to make the audience uncomfortable. In other instances, she dwells on reactions. They are fascinating decisions, but it makes it a really tough watch, especially for mothers. Final Score: 7.4/10
A brilliant film that recounts MamieTill-Bryant's journey through the anguish and heroic determination to see justice for her murdered son. Accurate historically and quite an emotional journal, but that is to be expected. This case should never be forgotten
A topic that sadly is still a theme in our day, almost 70 years later
This was the SLOWEST movie I have ever watched. Direction sucks. Every scene is dragged out, every movement is like slow motion, long drawn out 'emotion' scenes. This 2 hour movie could have been filmed in probably just over an hour if they did it right. If the story wasn't true, I would have walked out halfway in, but wanted to get all the facts.
Excellent movie! A very personal film, from the mother's view. Worth watching!
It's amazing it tells the colored peoples side of the story during slavery and how some people feel about the black culture and it lets the little kids learn about their culture and how they made so many sacrifices to help us get to where we are
