Umma Reviews
just bad. not scary. just bad.
The movie wasn't too scary given its supposed to be a horror/suspense thriller. Sandra Oh was great and I liked how she explained some of the Korean traditions. At least the movie had a conclusion unlike other movies that left me scratching my head.
More of a suspense than a horror. Story is a decent watch and the performances are great.
Sandra Oh! She is the best, and I also watch anything with which Sam Raimi has any involvement. And Beekeeping! Fantastic film. Will definitely buy on disc.
it was a nice setting. daughter was pretty. oriental horror movie, different.
Man that was creepy, I watch horror movies all the time and they genuinely scare and make me a bit paranoid shortly after I watch them but this was on another level. I haven’t watched a good horror movie with a great story line in a long time. Most of the new ones seem to just be generic, more of the same but this was amazing. 10 out of 10
It was not interesting what so ever.
It was amazing!! The movie was just perfect, just like the service. Perfect.
It was a good storyline but it wasn't that scary.
Not horrible not great. Previews were scarier than actual movie.
the film was short but had a nice story to it. don’t recommend watching it though.
We Definitely thought there was going to be more horror! I was expecting a little bit more of a freak out, however the story was good and made up for it. The cinematography was absolutely wonderful.
The beginning of the movie seemed pretty good, setting up the characters and adding in the tense supernatural. However, it almost seems the writer and director lost focus of making a spooky supernatural movie, and became too involved as to the emotional question of "Why" was UMMA abusive to her daughter. Would have been a much better movie if they would have stuck to more of the Supernatural and Scares.
Like most women would say “if it was a little longer I would’ve liked it more”
Daughter liked it, we not so much.
Loved the story line but could've been a bit more scary.
Didn't have as many scares as I expected and the plot of why "Umma" was "Umma", was.... disappointing. I loved Sandra Oh though, she was great.
Boring movie - didnt make much sense. She said that her parents moved to the US (assuming that house) then how did her mom die in Korea?
loved it! The story was well thought out. I was very entertained.
Great movie. Deals with the effects of trauma with a supernatural element
