Uncut Gems Reviews
The thing that elevates it above all else is the frenetic energy that infuses every scene, yet calibrated so perfectly so that it stays, barely, on the right side of frustrating. There's nothing more thrilling than that.

It's a brilliantly exhausting movie that gaffer-tapes us to motormouth New York gem dealer and degenerate gambler Howard Ratner... The thrill and despair of the addict are palpable.

Having looked at it closely, I'd say it's being over-valued. But not by much.

A terrific, really convincing supporting cast, with not one single character that I didn't believe...

When relief finally comes, it's heartbreaking.

Uncut Gems is a fairytale written by the hand of capitalism, where mystical highs are followed by crushing blows -- and there's always a price to pay.

Invites such total immersion in one corner of New York that the picture takes on an anthropological flavour.

This is the year's most exciting film. You can take that to the bank.

This fantastically unhinged thriller is one of the most exhilarating experiences one is likely to have at the cinema this year.

There is more to the Safdies' secret sauce than panic. At first glance the cast has the feel of a group of strangers grabbed at random from the sidewalk, yet it clicks and keeps clicking.

Motor-mouthed along by Sandler's edgy star turn, it's unrewardingly tense.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Jan 8, 2020
A monumental thriller, which vividly captures its world's specifics and calibrates its snaky plot for maximum nail-bitability. Also easily the best film to ever extensively feature Adam Sandler yelling at a 온라인카지노추천.

Uncut Gems is full of surprises more fulfilling than the movie's main narrative, from its production design and cinematography to supporting turns from Idina Menzel and Eric Bogosian.

My only criticism is that the film takes a long time to play out. Even so, it's a movie that commands your attention & lingers afterwards, as does Sandler's intensely focused performance. This tops everything he's done before & is worthy of an Oscar.

Adam Sandler doing the absolute best work of his career. Really, truly when given the challenge, he more than rises to it.

It's a breathless journey that captures the exhilaration and the hopelessness of living life on the edge. It's a gamble that pays off, and then some.

Cinematographer Darius Khondji gives the film a gritty, twitchy feel. The Safdies give it a story and a pace that never lets up. But Sandler gives it life, and makes "Uncut Gems" a must-see movie.

There is nothing polite about brothers Benny Safdie and Josh Safdie's newest hyper-adrenalized ticking clock drama Uncut Gems.

Adam Sandler does award-worthy work as a jeweler addicted to the gambling rush.
