Uncut Gems Reviews
Adam Sandler kills it as the loudmouthed Howard Ratner in the intense and compelling Uncut Gems, that despite a few scenes that could have been altered (for example the opening and ending scenes), is a non-stop crime drama that is incredibly well paced and provides a lot of intriguing character work.
I don't care about the characters, i don't like the characters, why do i care who lives or who dies or who wins or whatever.
pointlessly stressful content. it sort of has a purpose, but not really. it's just about a guy who cannot take good enough when he sees it, taken to a logical extreme.
No one I know likes this movie, but you just have to get it to like it, so I kind of understand.
The film is a great concept and well done. Sandler easily delivers a top 3 acting performance of his career. With that said, this movie is stressful to watch (which is kind of the point). As fantastic as the film is, it has low rewatch potential because it is not a fun movie to sit through.
The bio says a “charismatic” jeweler… I would say Sander’s character is anything but charismatic. I despised Howard more than I despised Colin Farrell’s Penguin. I thought it was good. I understand by the ending was the way it was, but why didn’t Phil just break the class and end it earlier. I feel like there were a lot of loose ends, but Garnett does make a pretty good actor.
Stressfull is how I'd describe this film. I can't really even tell you if I liked it or enjoyed it. Appreciate the premise and the last 15 minutes were brilliant but I wouldn't watch it again
Uncut Gems is an intense, anxiety-inducing ride that thrives on chaos. From the moment it begins, the film drags you into the reckless, high-stakes world of Howard Ratner, a jeweler and compulsive gambler played brilliantly by Adam Sandler. The film’s energy is relentless, making you feel just as stressed and exhilarated as its protagonist. What makes Uncut Gems so gripping is its ability to make you care about Howard, even when he continuously makes infuriatingly bad decisions. Just when you think you’ve detached yourself from his self-destructive choices, the film pulls you back in, making you root for him all over again. The Safdie brothers masterfully craft a sense of discomfort, ensuring that every scene crackles with unpredictability and tension. The film’s raw intensity, pulsating soundtrack, and immersive performances make it an unforgettable experience. It’s a movie that thrives on making the viewer uncomfortable—but in the best way possible.
A beautiful film that explores the scum of New York in a sometimes almost hypnotic manner. Both tense and often heartbreaking story with a surprisingly amazing performance from Adam Sandler, one of the best film scores I've heard in quite the while, and phenomenal cinematography and coloring. Uncut Gems is an amazing film of the modern day with great writing and a great lead character. Uncut Gems may be hard to watch, but it's definitely worth it.
Had to bail after about 30 minutes..Had an interesting plot..but, i couldn't handle Sandlers buffoonish over-acting..
MOVIE PACE IS A BIG THING, THIS MOVIE BLOWS IT OUT OF A PARK! Will I ever rewatch this thing? HELL NO! Am I glad I've seen it F YEAH!!! Cinema at it's finest! From second 1 to credits this movie has you, nothing else exists, holy sh** what a fg movie, wow am I glad I've see this mastepiece, not again tho! Adam Sandler killed it, the writers killed it, the director killed it!!! This was a 2hrs of my life I will hate, and I love it for it
another terrible performance from Adam Sandler
Chaotic movie which really adds to the atmosphere. Everyone is shouting and it just keeps going and going no real slow parts. Quite entertaining but also really what is the movie about? Unexpected but great ending
Amazing movie, and showed how much talent Adam Sandler actually has as an actor. I don’t understand the low audience score. It’s edge of your seat thriller type degenerate gambling, and it’s pretty realistic. This comes from someone who’s been a pro gambler for 15+ years. There are small inaccuracies for sure, but no movie about poker or gambling is ever totally accurate. This is very close, and in the poker world you’ll find some very degenerate people. Obviously this is dramatized, but I’ve encountered degenerates close to this level. This is such a FANTASTIC movie.
Adam Sandler Show How he is So Much Good In Acting
A great exhilarating movie experience, Adam Sandler is superb.
This movie keeps you engaged from start to finish. Sandler shines in his dramatic roles, this one is probably his best.
Adam Sandler delivers a stellar performance as the jeweler and degenerate gambler, Howard Ratner. Uncut Gems is a good movie, however, I am not a fan of it. It just isn't my cup of tea. I do recommend it for those who are fans of Adam Sandler. 86/100
Easily the best film of 2019. Ignore the pearl clutching and media illiteracy of the clowns that have this film a bad review. If you’re mad that you didn’t see Happy Gilmore, it’s on you for being a dumbass. This move stressed me the hell out the entire time and I loved every minute of it.
Worth every second, lived every second.
