V/H/S/94 Reviews

V/H/S/94 contains plenty of horrifying content that’ll satiate a wide swatch of fans.

| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Jul 9, 2024

V/H/S/94 is the best in the franchise thus far; unforgiving, relentless and fierce, it will track well with horror fans who won’t feel the need to fast-forward any footage.

| Mar 8, 2024

Viewers end up spending an inordinate amount of time watching fuzzy images of people running round corridors shouting incoherently, and frankly that’s boring.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Feb 26, 2024

V/H/S/94 won’t win over found footage detesters but it is a sign that this franchise is not only back on track but on sterling form at that, as the hit rate of the shorts has never been this successful or consistent.

94 proves the V/H/S movies are still in a class of their own when it comes to macabre, found-footage storytelling.

| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Jul 23, 2023

/H/S/94 is a thoroughly decent installment despite its relatively slight nature. It’s a film which invites the audience to have a lot of fun but keeps an air of spooky credibility intact, allowing for analog media’s eerie legacy to continue.

On their own merits, each of the four shorts have things worth applauding. But unfortunately after each, we're forced to come back to the framing story. And aside from some gnarly imagery, nothing in it comes close to the quality of the shorts.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Aug 16, 2022

This surprisingly good fourth entry in the horror anthology series moves things forward in time and achieves more advanced storytelling style, especially in the disturbingly relevant fourth tale.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 22, 2022

V/H/S/94 feels a bit stale, but at least it has managed to achieve consistency, even if it's not consistently great.

V/H/S/94 is hilarious, shocking, really brutal, and it's just a hell of a lot of fun. Gore flies and humanity throbs with regret...It's intentionally grungy to a purpose with high concept ideas cleverly hidden within

"V/H/S/94" is a very entertaining film, that will satisfy all fans of found-footage and horror in general, while the VHS aesthetics will find appeal even among those who do enjoy these genres particularly.

| Original Score: 7/10 | Dec 26, 2021

There are bound to be segments that shine over others. But even its weakest pieces are still entertaining, and the good stuff is exceptionally so.

| Original Score: B+ | Dec 5, 2021

It is a cool experience but does not really innovate the genre nor does it address some of its issues on a thematic level. The big one being: why is it like this?

| Dec 5, 2021

After nine years and four movies, it might be time to hit the "eject" button on the "V/H/S" series once and for all.

| Original Score: C- | Dec 5, 2021

V/H/S/94 is a clear step up from the previous entry, and while it can't touch V/H/S/2 it still delivers plenty of fun for the family. (We may define "family" differently.)

The strongest of the V/H/S movies. The first half is top notch.

| Original Score: 4/5 | Oct 22, 2021

The outcome is punchy, gory fun.

| Original Score: B | Oct 19, 2021

The fourth installment of this found footage anthology horror franchise goes back to the waning days of the videocassette to present arguably the best entry in the series yet.

| Oct 15, 2021

It's a neat little movie... I love being able to watch several different ideas and stories.

| Original Score: 3/4 | Oct 15, 2021

There's no reason for this film to be set in 1994 if the filmmakers are going to use the modern 16:9 aspect ratio. To do so is basically to kill your entire concept from frame one.
