Peter Pan Reviews
You may feel like you’ve stepped into the pages of a storybook illustrated by Maxfield Parrish when you fly off to Neverland in... P.J. Hogan’s deft and delightful take on the oft-filmed J.M. Barrie classic.

It adapts Barrie's text quite faithfully, adding certain reflections that no adaptation to the novel has made so far. [Full Review in Spanish]

Hogan has managed to remain faithful to Barrie's Edwardian spirit without making him feel musty.

Clearly a star in the making, Hurd-Wood demonstrates a maturity far beyond her 13 years, especially in the easy way she adopts the role of surrogate mother to The Lost Boys once in Never-Never Land.

On the whole it's a pleasant thing, if hardly the definitive treatment of the source material.

It won't give Harry Potter a run for his money, but it beats the hell out of a Cannon & Ball panto in Skegness.
| Original Score: 3/5 | May 27, 2011
Live-action version keeps its thrill and charm.

Great performances, rollicking action and excitement, and a beautiful story kids will surely love...

These ingredients are digitally present and correct, but Hogan fails to inject much excitement into the many boisterous action sequences.

Siendo notorio el gusto de Hogan por las letras cl谩sicas de Peter Pan y Wendy, el director sabe educir el alma del libro para llevarla al celuloide.

PJ Hogan's lazy, logy Peter Pan states that not growing up is a tragedy, but presents neither evidence nor arguments.

[I]t's an unfortunate time for a new version of Peter Pan to hit theaters, but those who can push all those King of Pop connections aside will be rewarded.

Even if you don't believe in fairies, this movie will make a believer of you....timeless story gets a grand treatment, though some parents may balk at Hogan's darker tones.

It's not colourful, it's not fun, it's just a gaudy mess of bad aesthetic choices and cruddy CGI.

First off, the movie looks fantastic. The sets are amazing and the effects are wonderful.
| Original Score: 8/10 | Feb 7, 2004
Don't get caught somewhere in the middle, wandering around Neverland without a fairy guide.

Gorgeously mounted and imagined, this new incarnation of Peter Pan has one gigantic flaw: Jeremy Sumpter, who plays Pan, cannot act at all.
| Jan 27, 2004
As smart and definitive a version as we're likely to see for a while, which is fine, if only because it casts an actual child actor instead of a creepy female man-child.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Jan 24, 2004
Hogan's adapation is likely faithful to a fault: it goes through the motions of the story without seeming to have any reason for telling it.
| Original Score: 1.5/5 | Jan 15, 2004
Most kids will be bored for much of the time, and are unlikely to be attracted by the juvenile performers.
