Becky Reviews
On the whole, Becky is a well-paced and action-driven distraction with an unlikely hero. It's a perfect vehicle for its two leads, who are certainly suited for these kind of out-of-the-box roles.
| Original Score: 8/10 | Jul 20, 2023
While not entirely original, the violent revelry imbued in Becky's core and the terrific lead performance make it a worthy watch.

...sporadically watchable yet predominantly disappointing...
| Original Score: 2/4 | Jun 12, 2023
Becky is a breezy blast and a gnarly genre gem that horrifically turns the plot of Home Alone on its head, with terrific turns from Lulu Wilson and Kevin James.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Sep 1, 2022
Family drama and home invasion thriller is just a part of the genre blend we get. “Becky” is just as much a revenge-fueled splatter film as the 13-year-old protagonist unleashes her sorrow and rage in a number of grisly, blood-soaked ways.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Aug 19, 2022
Those hoping to see a more memorable turn from James might be disappointed, but you might see a star in the making with Lulu Wilson, a name you should probably remember.
| Original Score: 5/10 | May 20, 2022
Becky is a horror film that isnt afraid to get gruesome and violent, while maintaining a strong focus on getting to know its central character. Kevin James gives an unexpected performance exploring a genre and character-type so unlike his usual work.

The end of the movie hints at a fascinating character study that hasn't actually occurred. What Milott and Murnion do, though, they do quite well.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Jun 17, 2021
Home invasion thriller meets revenge horror, in this bloody action film from Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion. One for those who have a strong stomach, but possibly not daughters.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Feb 13, 2021
While it is shocking to see the King of Queens without a quip on his lips or Adam Sandler at his side, he's never menacing enough to be believable.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Jan 30, 2021
Refreshingly brutal.

In a year that has given us more than few home invasion-style horrors, Becky remains one of the more entertaining ones, despite the knowledge that a few tweaks here and there would have made it more of a standout.

Wilson was amazing and James was really surprisingly scary.
| Original Score: 7/10 | Oct 12, 2020
Everything feels familiar, from the premise to the characters, but the fast pace and shifting series of events keep the audience on edge as this situation gets increasingly scrappy and desperate.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Oct 9, 2020
It has a certain retro throwback pleasure for anyone still longing for the days of VHS...squishy gore effects, a nostalgic charm...
| Oct 8, 2020
A smartly conceived home invasion thriller that plays like a twisted coming-of-age movie.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Sep 29, 2020
A blood-splattered B-movie ride that, much like its main character, shouldn't be underestimated.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Sep 25, 2020
Gleefully gory; Becky unfurls at breakneck speed and challenges our perceptions of its leads. In doing so, creates a deliciously vicious twist of the home invasion thriller.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Sep 24, 2020
The lesson here is don't mess with the inner rage of a teenage girl. But Becky's crazed kills get more and more gimmicky, and there's nothing in the script to indicate what has turned her into a pint-sized death-dealer.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 24, 2020
Becky might not break new grounds or reinvent the wheel, but if you are a genre movie fan, particularly home invasion movies, there is a lot to enjoy in Becky.
