I get it’s silly but I never found myself hating it. It keeps my interest. It didn’t need a twist that one of guests is bad though. It’s like it suddenly thought it was a Scream movie.

Fantasy Island is a goofy, poorly directed film with terrible acting that could have balanced the tone of humor and horror but instead becomes laughable because it lost the film’s intended purpose. Nevertheless, it became a bit of a guilty fun factor for myself with the film’s embarrassing outcome. Grading: D+

Unless you're a fan of bad movies or movies that are so-bad-they're-good movies, i would avoid this one.

Fantasy Island - 5/10. Jeff Wadlow directs this reboot adaption of the famous tv series Fantasy Island. Unlike that tv show, this film goes for a more horror aspect, with mixed results. A random group of people arrive to Fantasy Island, where a mysterious man named Roarke (Michael Pena), grants each person their own fantasy. Though each person gets to live through with each fantasy, it might end up being more than they bargained for. This movie is bad, but it falls under the "junk food" category of films. Its not a good movie, but it entertains to a certain extent. The performances are okay (Maggie Q and Austin Stowell being the better performers in this). The visuals of the island are amazing, with lush greens and a very bright vibe, contrasting to the film's sinister plot. But outside of that, the film wavers a lot in trying to convey itself. There have been better stories which delve into people who have their deepest fantasies or lives be taunted with (Westworld and Cabin In The Woods doing this a lot better). The way the story unfolds, and the lukewarm ending, makes the pay off of watching the movie not worth it. Not to give a spoiler, but there is a twist on the twist that happens in the climax, and it doesn't work at all because of the performance of the eventual villain. If you watch this film for the sake of entertainment, it does okay and helps pass the time. Its nothing to write home about though.

My fantasy would be to go back to a time before I saw this movie (but where I somehow still got to tell everyone how stupid, boring, poorly acted, and just all around terrible it is).

Two hours of my life wasted. This movie is beyond stupid, bad acting, bad plot, bad everything.

I found the pacing and coherence to be problematic. The plot, centered around guests whose fantasies turn into nightmares, felt convoluted and often nonsensical. Rather than creating a gripping narrative, the story seemed disjointed and poorly executed, with twists that were either predictable or outright baffling.

A movie so over the top with its story that you cant help but feel its a guilty pleasure. It aint a good film or even an ok film its a bad film that you cant stop watching.

If you like Lucy Hale and your expectations aren't too high then this is an easy watch. It's enjoy but definitely not a piece of art.

The twist at the end seemed a little illogical based on what we had seen so far, even as they tried to explain it for you. It was still entertaining and with a little more depth behind it than the typical horror flick.

I never watched it but heard its poo, so thought I'd give it a good rating, 10/10
