The Electric State is a spectacular adventure from the directors of Avengers: Endgame set in an alternate, retro-futuristic version of the 1990s. Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Enola Holmes, Damsel) stars as Michelle, an orphaned teenager navigating life in a society where sentient robots resembling cartoons and mascots, who once served peacefully among humans, now live in exile following a failed uprising. Everything Michelle thinks she knows about the world is upended one night when she's visited by Cosmo, a sweet, mysterious robot who appears to be controlled by Christopher -- Michelle's genius younger brother whom she thought was dead. Determined to find the beloved sibling she thought she had lost, Michelle sets out across the American southwest with Cosmo, and soon finds herself reluctantly joining forces with Keats (Chris Pratt, Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World), a low-rent smuggler, and his wisecracking robot sidekick, Herman (voiced by Anthony Mackie). As they venture into the Exclusion Zone, a walled-off corner in the desert where robots now exist on their own, Keats and Michelle find a strange, colorful group of new animatronic allies -- and begin to learn that the forces behind Christopher's disappearance are more sinister than they ever expected.

In all my life I've never left a review of a movie......I'm 29. Read plenty of reviews and reading some of these pissed me of so I had to. I made a whole account to say what total BS some of these low reviews are. Yes the movie isn't one for the ages but family fun it sure is.....of course it wasn't targeted towards adult but I watched this movie with my wife started at 11pm.....I really expected to get bored and fall asleep....Nope 1:19am and I'm creating a rotten tomatoes account to say watch it if you love action, humor, and tearing jerking movies....5/5 from me...I even turned down seggs to finish this....

This movie is very entertaining, funny and action packed. My kids enjoy it and it’s nice to have a movie that isn’t MA rating for once. I can appreciate that for sure. Lots of familiar faces and cool storyline. My toddlers favorite movie oddly. We’ve watched over 10 times. It’s worth a watch for sure

Modern critics need to go rewatch some of the truly mediocre sci fi of decades past and temper their expectations. The story was predictable, themes and characters a bit derivative, what isnt it these days? Visually it was great, the acting was mostly solid, and it was a fun watch. Maybe not $300+ million of fun, but far from being a bomb. I just can’t get over how panned this is; it really didnt do a single thing wrong. Why can’t we just appreciate the successes?

I had to watch it since I saw a TikTok saying it was awful. Went into it expecting it to be bad but it was honestly a top tier watch and gave a good story at a fast pace making it easy to stay invested. Amazing quality and acting, and the robots too, if I had not known before hand the movie was cgi I’d have believed the robots were real.

Maybe written it is not a masterpiece of art but I loved it, the movie was quite comical, I liked the visuals and the setting of it, even the extra characters I found quite interesting, my whole family agrees that it is a good movie to enjoy not to give it too much depth, although the final message was quite good
