Boy Kills World Reviews
A total assault on the senses in the form of a weird, violent thrill ride that’s cool in bloody bursts but ultimately feels empty.
| Feb 4, 2025
An all-encompassing madhouse of a wide variety of action-oriented genres, all of which come splattering together to make one of the most spectacular cinematic mosaics I’ve seen in a very long time.

Boy Kills World kills brain cells.
| Sep 26, 2024
Unhinged, stylish and utterly gory with impressive and exciting fight styles. There are a lot of unexplained or glanced over plot-holes, you kind of need to turn your brain off for this one and just enjoy the ass-kicking and ridiculous foolery.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Sep 5, 2024
Boy Kills World is an utterly demented and excessively violent revenge thriller with enough moments of dark humour and creative action to overcome its slightly underdeveloped narrative.

Boy comes nowhere close to "killing the world." The body count *maybe* approaches John Wick 2 numbers, but hardly an entire planet's worth.

Moritz Mohr, who makes his debut with this riotous comic opera about bloody revenge, always goes for the joke. [Full review in Spanish]

The film's a bit of a confusing, computer-gamer mess. But Bill Skarsgard has charisma and energy in the title role.

Boy Kills World could be defined as a very bloody action comedy in which the objective is excess. [Full review in Spanish]

It does everything big-budget movies don't dare to do while remaining worthy of the big screen, it's filled with blood, bad jokes, and a game Skarsgård... [Full review in Spanish]

But what it lacks in innovation, the movie still provides the entertainment factor with its intense “going for maximum gonzo” style and some pretty sick fight scenes too.

A young and colorful John Wick for a new generation. [Full review in Spanish]

Despite some incredible action set pieces, H. Jon Benjamin’s new voiceover is both a distracting miscast and a display of Boy Kills World’s awful comedy.
| Original Score: 5.5/10 | Jul 2, 2024
Boy Kills World is always fighting against what it wants, or needs to do, cutting corners in some places to fixate on its own self-selected quirks somewhere else.
| Jun 18, 2024
Boy Kills World may seem like an inclusive feature, but underneath the admittedly fun carnage is a feeble attempt at genuine representation.
| Original Score: C- | Jun 14, 2024
Silly and surfacey, with world-building that’s little more than an apathetic shrug, and a plot that’s largely an excuse for creatively staged fights that range from dopey humor to surreal mind game to a final, surprisingly serious battle.
| Original Score: 65/100 | Jun 14, 2024
Skarsgard’s performance must be commended for its physicality, but ultimately Boy Kills World becomes as much of a physical ordeal to watch as for its hero to survive.
| Original Score: 2/5 | May 29, 2024
As a sendup of revenge thrillers and the stoic hero so often at the center of them, it’s surprisingly sly.
| May 29, 2024
Boy Kills World thrives when it taps into the playfulness of the world through H. Jon Benjamin distinct narration, impressive action from Bill Skarsgård and it's stacked ensemble.
| Original Score: 4/5 | May 27, 2024
Boy Kills World is an exciting, fast-paced thrill ride. While the final third may feel a bit overstretched, the action and acting remain captivating throughout, keeping the adrenaline pumping.
