In The Earth Reviews
This movie shows that Rotten tomatoes needs a change of the top critics. It's one of the worst movies I have ever seen..a few psychedelic effects do not make a good movie
worst movie ive ever watched, nothing is showed, everything is confusing, plot has absolute no sense and the sounds and lights gave me headaches
Hallucinations galore. Felt like I hallucinated the entire movie, no plot, just me being on mushrooms?
Utter, unspeakable rubbish. That a critic thought this was one of Wheatley's "better" efforts certainly doesn't say much about the rest of them. Just an excuse for boring psychedelic visuals - don't watch if you're epileptic, and don't watch if you aren't.
Never gets over the top to become what it looks like it might be. The ending was too abrupt and did not clarify or make more sense of anything despite the flashy end effort.
Is pure cosmic horror, Is better than a very know movie about a forest with Natalie Portman
This movie was absolute trash. It was so slow, boring, and honestly just felt pointless. I couldn’t even finish the whole thing. Waste of time.
Creepy and bloody fun. Plot is confusing and very out of sorts with no real explanation about what's going on but leaving it open for interpretation leaves this feeling more like art than a movie which isn't entirely a bad thing. The gore is beautiful and accurate and the scene with the flare was particularly masterful. Overall leaves you hungry for more answers and more run time.
Trash, boring, stupid, desperately trying to be edgy, horrible, dreadful, garbage.
Terrible plot and script - just really boring. Low budget is no excuse for such a dud. No surprise in the audience score. Can't see how the critics could give 80% - are they on the company payroll?
This one of the worst film I have watched in a long time. I was going to stop it but hoping it would get better! Don't waste two hours of your time so annoying.
Absolute garbage. Plot is beyond understanding, acting is dire, its way too long to tell a non existent story. Do yourself a favour, watch grass grow instead.
In the Earth, is an awful attempt of a "horror" movie. And, I'm an extreme horror fan, in all different genres of horror/thriller !!! This movie gave both my mother and I extreme migraines — and an overall, feeling of overwhelming disappoint. Towards the middle of the film, all the way until the end … completely lost me. The epilepsy warning wasn't near enough, to prepare ourselves for the visuals of this movie. This movie in general, was one big, mind trip disappoint …. That I needed to end as soon as possible. My mother's earnest attempt to try to make sense of the movie … brought on her vertigo symptoms. If it's not obvious enough, I won't be watching this movie again. Sorry. And — I do not recommend this movie, to anyone who would like to keep their sanity. Or, if your mindset is already a bit hazy or unstable to begin with. Zero stars for the plot (that felt like it just kept reaching and reaching), Zero stars for the cinematography … there was beginning potential for some artsy shots — but, that completely got lost in the rest of the film, and Zero stars for the trippy graphics/colors …. A kaleidoscope dream is what it seemed to want to achieve ? Just no. It was honestly just TOO MUCH.
Easily the worst film I've ever seen. It feels like someone gave a few million dollars to a film student who'd eaten a handful of mushrooms during the pandemic and convinced the studio they had something meaningful say. They don't. Aside from the excellent sound design, this is an utterly incoherent mess of nonsensical ideas, cheap tricks and bad acting. It's neither funny enough to elevate it into fun b grade horror territory, nor intelligently enough written to illicit any deep contemplation or insight, nor visionary enough to give you a truly experiential psychedelic viewing experience like Cosmatos' Mandy. Avoid at all costs.
Intellectually grounded with impressive production merits, but the nonsensically lowbrow story is convoluting with incoherent events aimlessly played out, almost similar to "The Blair Witch Project" in clearer, less thrilling light. (B-)
I didn't even pay to watch this movie and I want my money back. Wife almost divorced me because I chose this film. Please place this under the category of " Waste my fkn time."
Reading the professional reviews of this pointless wandering movie is like experiencing a real life The Emperor's New Clothes. If this wasn't a director so many of them like, would this movie have any good reviews? The answer has to be a firm no. It begins with promise and builds suspense, then seems to forget its purpose and takes a 90 degree turn into a mad man kidnapping tale as if someone else stepped in and took over the writing. The ending is tacked on and hurried and serves no purpose other than Wheatley suddenly remembering his original premise. If this were on regular 온라인카지노추천 on a Saturday afternoon, it would be treated like every other lifeless dreary timesuck.
During a pandemic, a park ranger and a scientist journey into the woods near Bristol to a research station. Not for everyone, I found this to be an engaging thriller about the fears and distrust Covid caused as well as featuring some exceptional performances from the cast. Wheatley creates an eerie but wonderful atmosphere that makes us ask, are we the only important organisms on this earth? This definitely is one of those films that might induce seizures. Strobe lights out the wazoo toward the end. Another accidental double feature. Viewed this after Gaia, which has similar themes.
Judging by the low star rating of this movie I would suggest that some people are missing the point, what does a director do when faced with a tiny budget, they get creative! If you like modern B movies (that could easily have been created decades ago) coupled with gory amateurish details, a splash of psychedelic shenanigans and acting as wooden as a third year drama play then you will be pleased. I was because films like this give me hope, another brave attempt at doing something different and it works. Rather than relying on big stars and huge budgets this films strips the art of film making back to the basics. Great use is made of lighting, sound and special camera effects, the journey is obvious but the content is refreshing. If you take your Hollywood hat off and pull up a chair for a bit of creative fun this movie will be your partner in crime. Nice one.
Bland forgettable protagonists, hammy cheesy plot that is very derivrative of superior films, exposition heavy dialogue, cheap looking visual effects. Not even the welcome presence of Reece Sheersmith can salvage this from mediocrity.
