Well worn premise-assassin done wrong uses skills for revenge. Ok, fine. But the pace of this film is glacial and, really, Fassbender's talent is wasted as anyone could play this role. Not much acting required. The film wasn't a total waste of time, but not a good use of it either.

Fincher is my favorite director, but this one didn't work for me. It's very basic.

Really liked this movie and would recommend it to others

It's well acted and directed, but the story and plot is the most generic thing ever written I forgot this movie existed for two years after I watched it so I forgot to write a review of how "vanilla" it was. You won't Reget watching it necessarily, but you will forget it.

Michael Fassbender performed well under David Fincher’s lesser direction than his previous accomplishments when the signature grip gets loose and uneventfully lost in the violent mindset that doesn’t proceed narratively in rational coherence. (B)

Regarding some other reviews, I still can't understand that some people think Rotten Tomatoes give out the scores, but there we are. The Killer is a boring slog of a movie. It's not terrible, but it's one of Fincher's weakest efforts. I recently read an article lately where he said he regrets making The Game. While that movie has its flaws, at least it was entertaining and not as drearily dull as this one.

After watching this film, I find myself wanting to read the source material. I'm interested to see whether it's empty of meaning, relying on style and attention to esoteric detail to substitute for purpose and character. If that's the case, Fincher did a good job adapting it. In any case, this movie is about as vacant as what it appears to be criticizing. The cast and crew have done an excellent job, but one has to wonder whether the hand guiding the work has anything to offer outside of a well known opinion on how the work gets done. Fincher aficionados might be bothered by the assertion that The Accountant and Grosse Pointe Blank are better assassin-driven criticisms of modern power than an assassin movie from the Fight Club guy, but here we are.

Pretentious and dull, full of itself. This type of movie has been done much better by other directors with capable hands.

Searching for a good movie to watch, I came across The Killer, and saw the names Michael Fassbender and David Fincher. Search over. And it was worth it, a very tense thriller with Fassbender delivering a cold yet entertaining cipher-like performance. Just to add, I wonder how many caught two of Director David Fincher's devices he repeated throughout the movie? Every time Fassbender wanted to silence the world and retreat into his music, it was to a different Smiths' song. And the one comical device of the film was how whenever Fassbender traveled or had to make a transaction of any kind, his constant rotation of fake IDs always used a 온라인카지노추천 character- specifically from the 1970s (and one from the '80s). The one light moment from another wise dark and riveting movie. Have to mention two outstanding scenes in the film; a terrific all-out fight between Fassbender and a killer known as Thd Brute. One of the best fight scenes I've ever seen. And a tight,taut scene with Tilda Swinton, in which there is not one second or word spoken that's wasted. Absolutely terrific acting from both Fassbender and Swinton.

The plot seems written by a 10 year old, boring, straight line, no dialogue, no creativity. You just see time pass by and realize that nothing is happening and you at least expect some excitement before the movie ends...but no. Just a boring boring boring revenge story with nothing elaborate, nothing well thought out, plain characters, plain story if you can even call that a story. Extremely disappointing

Very excited to see David Fincher back on the scene but now all I can hear is the inside of Fasbenders mind telling me the same things over and over. Just when it seems like it's going to finally get going, we slow it down to a snails pace and listen to the brain of Fasbender. If you like the slow sweaty ritual of hot yoga, as well as some killing, you will love this.

What a great movie. The inner look of a trained professional killers mind. Taken on a trip through his entire thought process from start to finish. What a wonderful film.

Couldn’t fault this film, watched twice and got better. Gritty, subversive and action packed. As per usual Fassbender is a joy. He brings the film together, great casting all around. Will watch again at some point.

Slow burning and dull. A waste of David Fincher's directing talent. I don't say it's not worth watching but I am saying do not expect a thriller that gives you the rush of Zodiac or Se7en.

This movie was very slow, it's story was mediocre. The hit man did not kill his targets very well, which made his dialog futile (as much of his recount to the audience is what a hit man's character should be like). This was a loss of my time. This movie has to be one of the worst movies I have ever watched.

I honestly can not believe that Rotten Tomatoes has given this movie such a high rating. Everyone fell asleep watching it. This is the most boring, slowest “thriller.” The most thrilling part was when the end credits rolled.

Brilliant slow burn, to start the movie off with a highly trained assassin missing his mark after running through all his seemly perfect methods and questions of faith and or purposefully using his skills for any thing other than greed is great and kicks off an anxiety induced thriller opener. My highlight is the scene of him breaking into the Floridian marks house, the audio is dare i say perfect, the footsteps of the mark that has easily 100 pounds of muscle difference between our lead is so enjoyable to listen to and really goes to great lengths to show how our lead is going in at least slightly unprepared for his personal reasons. I didn't care for the opening exposition that lasted 15-20 minutes for a expectation subversion however.
