The first episode or two might be a little confusing until you figure out who is who, and some of the dialog is hard to understand (use subtitles), but the writing, acting are pacing are all top notch. I'm hooked.

Only 4 episodes in, already hooked like I havent been in a while. I watched it because of Tom Hardy, but every single actor in it is selling it for me. I think I can see where they are going with the story behind the killing of the kid, but lets see if I am right about that.

The dialogue is so fast the subtitles are behind. I wanted to watch it but couldn't keep up trying to understand what they were saying. Way to fast.

Pretty good. I think getting better with each episode. If you like Tom Hardy in stuff like Taboo etc. you will like this. Put on the subtitles!

Its a Guy Ritchie project, i advised strongly turn on them subtitles

First off, the cast is excellent. Just seeing the names attached to this project got me to watch and so far, they have not let me down. The performances are strong across the board as you would expect from this collection of actors. It's a dark mafia drama that doesn't disappoint. You get small breathes of fresh air and calm only to have some small factoid or even a major event throw everything into a tailspin for good old Harry has to fix it. I am really enjoying it.

My favorite new show this season.

Shot like a commercial for the uber posh and very gauche gun and clothing store Purdey and Co of Mayfair London, this series is really gaastly darling.. The script and set ups are incredibly clunky, the editing simply awful. Tom is obviously in it because he has a stake in it but I bet Helen Mirren had a fit when she saw some of her close ups...yikes! The lighting is so over the top its amusing, Pierce Brosnan looking and dressed like the Black Magic chocolate hero in commercials back in the day...The individual set ups are jarring as they dont flow together, the effect looking as if the Grip was picking the shots...(All respect to Grips) bur they dont directors make..on the whole....In spite of the poor direction I like most of Ritchie's movies but this is a crock.......

I'm hooked. Literally have nothing bad to say about this show so far. It keeps a good pace, super interesting characters and story. And Tom Hardy is totally killing it! The only issue I have is waiting for the next episode. Let's go back to the days when they put an entire season out all at once so I can binge the hell out of it!

Enough Helen Mirren already. Just finished 1923 and here she is again? Ugh.

Only two episodes in but am giving four stars based on two words. Helen Mirren. Both the actress and character.

Mobster series are almost as difficult to pull off as a solid horror movie. Should this one stick to its current formula,it just might surpass the Sopranos. 75% business 25% personal is how it should be for all mobster shows. Sopranos dwelled far too much on the personal family drama. Tom Hardy, Brosnan & Mirren carry this one well beyond expectations & each episode gets better. Worth sticking to it.

Love the cast but the characters are reprehensible, over the top. One episode and I’m out. The plot is derivative— why bother.

Boring, geezerish, and a bit unbelievable. Brosnan and Mirrens accents are comical and their characters and like something from a monty python sketch. With the standard of people involved, and the guy who made lock stock and more recently the covenant, this should be a lot better. But it's watchable, in fairness.

the first two episode were great waiting for more complications in the scenario. i think this could be a modern peaky blinders.

Definitely not just another mob flex. Great cast, intriguing storyline, and definitely worth your time!

Starting off well, entertaining and compelling. Someone tell Paramount to get the actors to speak clearly, accents can be a bit tough. I defy anyone to watch this without subtitles. Between the overly thick accents they all put on and tom hardy mumble it is almost indecipherable. I think it may be well written, but I need to wait till the companion book comes out to help me keep up with the dialog. Seriously it is pretty good but i had to replay several times during the first episode to try and figure out what they said or what it means in actual English.
